Gris de Gris 2021

8,30

This Gris de Gris rosé made with the “saignée” method, is fresh and subtle thanks to the weather conditions of the vintage, with cool nights and hot days cooled by the Languedocian winds. The 2021 vintage of our Les Grenaches rosé displays tangy notes of red fruits, like redcurrant. Its round yet light body creates the perfect balance.

Tasting

Pale rose petal coloured wine. Delicate nose with floral and red fruit notes. Balanced on the palate thanks to a round yet light body, with intense and nicely tangy, fruity flavours, followed by a fresh finish.

Serving temperature

8-10°C to appreciate the wine’s aromatic character.

Food & wine pairings

Ideal to go with a vegetable mezze or with fish dishes, such as roast sea bream with fennel or grilled red mullet. This wine will also pair brilliantly with Mediterranean cuisine, like Provençal daube or ratatouille, and will make a refreshing aperitif served with tapas.

Winemaking

Harvesting is done mechanically starting in early September, in the early hours of the morning to conserve the freshness of the grapes. This is essential to preserving their aromas and for obtaining a pale colour with a few hours of cold soaking. The juice is then separated or “bled off” the grape particles and fermented. This is known as the “saignée” method of rosé production. Once fermented, the clear wine is racked off the lees before bottling.
